PC Building Simulator – Console Update
Hello PC Builders!
Today is a special day as we begin the long awaited rollout of our next major PC Building Simulator Console update. Launching on Xbox, PS4 & Switch, this will bring the game up to PC Patch v1.12.1 and address a number of additional issues unique to console.
In this update we’re introducing hundreds of new and optimised parts including the latest line of 11th generation Intel processors, AMD Radeon GPUs and hotly anticipated (heh) custom water cooled graphics cards. Finally, we’re still gearing up for a major change to our Xbox build, but in the meantime we’re patching the existing one.
Check out our blog posts from earlier in console development here.
Xbox platform update: GDK builds
As mentioned above, in this patch we’ll be updating the existing Xbox version but, as previously stated we had planned to push a re-release using Microsoft’s more advanced GDK platform. Due to some issues highlighted in testing we’re delaying the GDK release as we work to ensure it remains fully compatible with existing saved games. We’re still aiming to transition to this in a following patch but for now Xbox players will receive an update to the existing version which can be downloaded and played as normal.
Intel: Codename Rocket Lake
First in the list of recent hardware releases to debut in today’s console update, we’re welcoming the full line up of Intel’s 11th generation processors to PC Building Simulator.
These release alongside an initial selection of Z590 motherboards and include K and KF processor variants, adding some additional flavour to the PCBS overclocking scene.
AMD: RDNA 2
Adding another long awaited item to today’s console update, we’re launching reference versions of Red Team’s latest powerhouse – Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs.
As with other recent releases we’re aiming to include a wider selection of partner cards in a following update.
Water cooled GPUs
As a final point before sharing a full list of additions, we’re also bringing the first of this generation’s custom loop compatible GPUs to console, featuring entries from both NVIDIA’s RTX 30 series and AMD’s RX 6000 series graphics cards courtesy of EVGA and Corsair.
